"I'll admit with a lot of other readers, this book is in fact common sense but unfortunately for us humans, common sense is not that common. The exercise routine and the foods given are great. I still had a problem seeing results with this book, I think the calories need to be cut more and buying a smoothie maker for a diet seems like more money, along with the gym membership and the cost of this book :/
"This book is really great at illustrating HOW we should all be eating. It's really a get-back-to-the-basics nutrition book. A-B-S -- D-I-E-T -- P-O-W-E-R each letter stands for a food to focus on. A = Almonds & other nuts, B = Beans & other legumes, S = Spinach & other greens, D = Dairy, I = Instant Oatmeal, E = Eggs, T = Turkey & other lean meats, P = Peanut Butter, O = Olive oil, W = Whole grains, E = Extra protein powder (whey protein), R = Raspberries & other berries. People have lost a lot of weight on this diet, but I suspect it's the same people that are drinking pop and ingesting chemicals instead of foods. Yeah, if you start eating whole foods, you're going to lose weight if you're not accustomed to it. I already eat like this, though, and am fairly knowledgeable about nutrition, so there wasn't THAT much new information in the book. There are some meal plans, which would probably be beneficial if I did them, but I'm not. Basically, it's NOT a fad. It's a way of life. If you need education on nutrition and what you SHOULD be eating, read this."
