This overview of De Kooning's work from 1960-1980 was published to accompany the exhibition of his work held at the Kunstmuseum Basel from 17 September 2005 to 22nd January 2006. This part of his oeuvre bears the imprint of of a fundamental experience of landscape, when de Kooning developed a style of figuration, characterised by a new sense of colour and energy. This book features essays by Bernhard Mendes Burgi, Klaus Kertess and Ralph Ubl, as well as an interview with de Kooning conducted by Harold Rosenberg.
