This classic series has inspired nearly 2 million readers. Both loyal fans and new readers will want the latest edition of this beloved series. This edition includes a foreword from the publisher, a preface from Francine Rivers and discussion questions suitable for personal and group use. #2 An Echo in the Darkness: Turning away from the opulence of Rome, Marcus is led by a whispering voice from the past into a journey that could set him free from the darkness of his soul.
This is the second book in the Mark of the Lion Series. I liked it even better than the first. It's set in first century Rome. This one follows Marcus, as he searches for the truth about Christianity for himself, having seen it displayed in the life of a slave named Hadassah. It also shows life, death, illness and disability in that culture. I loved it. It shows what people thought of Christians during that time, and how the early eyewitness testimony of Christ and the bravery of the Christians facing death made a great impact on the culture. It had as much head-hopping as the first book, but I was distracted enough by the story not to care.

This book (second book of A voice in the wind) is mostly about Marcus and his love-blinded search for Hadassa's childhood home and her God.This book is a have-to-read book that will touch your heart from the very beginning of the story.
I love Francine's book and my favorite is her, The Voice In The Wind. I like her books cause it helps me to learn and try to live my Christian life like Hadassa who's courageous, kind,......

Francine Rivers tells a story that teaches us and at the same time tells a wonderful story of faith. Since receiving this book, I have already finished the last one in the series. It is an awesome story of a girl named Hadassah, who stands strong in the Lord no matter what comes against her. Francine Rivers makes you feel like you are right there in the story, visually and in your heart. I couldn't put it down once I picked it up, and have given the first book to a friend to read already. I myself have started reading another Francine Rivers book, and am sure there will be many others.
