Not for me

by Patsy O on Jun 27, 2014

Book club read for June and July. Tried to get into the book. Even viewed the movie thinking maybe that would help. NOPE.... guess it's for others, but not me.

This book was read by my book group and everyone enjoyed the book. It was an easy read and informative about how things were happening in Germany during the war.

This is a fantastic author. Book is wonderfully creative in that it is narrated by "DEATH". Loved this author!!!! very moving story....

The Book Thief

The Book Thief is beautifully written book. It is written in a sensitive, poetic way. Death is the narrator and that is unusual, but done well and not offensive. Gives an emotional view of citizens and families during the occupation of the Nazi's. I wd recommend it and will probably read it a second time.

A Must Read

This book is like none's my most favorite book I've ever read. Such a different perspective on the Nazi invasion; the best is the love of words and reading. Narrative by death is very entertaining.

Know of other books like this?

This was one of my favorite books that I read last year. Do you guys know of other books like this? They don't have to be about war or the Holocaust (though of course that's OK), but books that are similarly creative and captivating. Please let me know. Thanks!
