For twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to the majesty of Scotland's mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones, about a love that transcends the boundaries of time, and about James Fraser, a warrior whose gallantry once drew the young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his. Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful daughter as Claire's spellbinding journey continues in the intrigue-ridden court of Charles Edward Stuart, in a race to thwart a doomed uprising, and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves.Read Less
Acceptable. A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (However the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text. Book may be a price cutter or have a remainder mark.
Good + in Good + jacket. 9.5" 743 pages. "In 'Dragonfly In Amber', Gabaldon returns us to the same landscape. Claire Randall--successful physician, recent widow, mother--has returned to the Scottish Highlands with her nearly grown daughter to look up a young historian she met briefly some twenty years earlier." Text is clean and tight except for original owner's name inside cover and a few, small, faint spots on the edges of the text. Blue cloth with silver lettering over blue papered boards has the bottom of its spine faintly lightened. Dust jacket has a 6" strip where the laminate is separating from the paper. DOMESTIC SURFACE ONLY.
I don't know how Diana Gabaldon does it, but the story keeps getting better with every book in the series!

Dragonfly Abridgement Falls Flat
I dearly love the Outlander series and was very disappointed listening to the second audio book and finding the story not so much "abridged" as gutted. It bears little resemblence to the second unabridged book.
This is definitely an adaptation worth skipping. Read the whole book, Dragonfly in Amber, or listen to an unabridged audio version. Also, be sure to read the whole Outlander series in sequence

I enjoyed the book. It is a large book and takes awhile to read.
