excellent for anyone interested in ADD Jan 11, 2009
I am a occupational therapist and a mother of 2 ADD children. I've done my share of reading on the subject. I really like this one, even prefer it over "Driven..." which is also good. It is easily read by anyone but has enough details for the average professional The doctors are very sympathetic to the ADD condition. The chapters are broken down so that one can read the book a piece at a time. Good for all us ADDers!
Good general info about ADD and useful specifics for adult ADD, even includes co-occuring diagnosis info and addiction; more about what ADD is about everyday than medical causes.
I was lending my copy of this book to many of my adult clients in the field of addictions. But I was having difficulty getting it back because they were so "into" it. Some had actually been identified ADHD for years but didn't have this kind of info and understanding of their condition and what can be done. So now that there is a paperback I 'm ok asking them to buy their own after briefly looking at mine.
