Margret Rey

Margret Rey was born in Hamburg, Germany, where she met H. A. Rey when she was a young girl. After attending art school and training at the Bauhaus, she married H. A. and they moved to Montmartre for four years. The manuscript of the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940.
