Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier, the great Swiss Architect and city planner, was born Charles Edouard Jeanneret in La Chaux-de-fonds, a watch-making city in Switzerland in 1887. He pioneered functionalist architecture with the use of reinforced concrete and the concept of the house as a ""machine for living."" He died in the Mediterranean in 1965.
