James Urry

James Urry is a Reader in Anthropology at New Zealand's Victoria University of Wellington. Since the early 1970s, he has researched Russian Mennonites in Canada, the United States, Russia, and the Ukraine. He is the author of Before Social Anthropology: Essays in the History of British Anthropology and None but Saints: The Transformation of Mennonite Life in Russia, 1789-1889 as well as hundreds of scholarly articles and reviews.
