Camilo Jose Cela

Camilo Jose Cela (1916-2002) was born in Galicia--his father, Spanish, his mother, English--and studied law, medicine, and philosophy in London and Madrid. Cela published some seventy books--among them "The Family of Pascual Duarte, Hive", and "Mazurka for Two Dead Men". He won the Nobel Prize in 1989. Translator Patricia Haugaard lives in County Galway, Ireland.
