246pp. Quarto [32 cm] Black pebbled cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, and embossed designs on the covers. Top edge gilt. Other edges deckled. Good only. The extremities are gently bumped and rubbed, and the underlying boards are exposed at the corners. The boards are just a tiny bit concave, and they are mildly damp stained along the edges. There are several small splits in the cloth at the foot of the spine. A large portion of the front free endsheet has been cut out. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endsheet. The pages have sporadic large, light damp stains. The frontispiece tissue guard is detached, but present. Prepared in accordance with concurrent resolution of Congress, and under direction of Joint Committee on Printing.
