I have loved this movie since I saw it in the theater. Making it a point to own all the wonderful movies I have ever loved and this was on my list. What can I say? I'm SO glad I found it. The music and choreography are unexcelled. Not a whole lot of Bob Fosse's work around. Get it while you can.

This is a well told tale interrupted, as were too many because of the rise to power of the Nazis in Germany before WWII. We get to caring about how the life of the lead characters will unfold and BAM, Hitler messes everything up. It's good to teach the lesson of what megalomaniacs have in the way of influencing other lives around them and as such worth the watch. The song, dance, sets, costumes and life styles are accurately portrayed for a period piece. Liza Minnelli definitely inherited her mother's vocal cords. Joel Grey deserved his Oscar for this performance
The DVD has good background on how this film came to be.

My 14 year old granddaughter loves all the old musicals. She really enjoyed Cabaret and has watched it many times.
