How to consolidate your shipping and save

Order more than one item from the same seller and receive shipping discounts.

Place an item listed by an independent seller in your shopping cart.
Receive discounted shipping for each additional item you order from that same seller.

Consolidated shipping overview

A quick introduction

Consolidated shipping enables you to receive discounted shipping and handling when ordering from our independent sellers and shipping to U.S. addresses. The first item you order from an independent seller is charged a standard shipping rate, but each additional item you purchase from that seller in that same order is shipped at a discounted rate. In addition, all of the items are usually shipped together in the same package by the seller.

If you purchase items from more than one seller, you will be charged the standard rate for the first item ordered from each seller. Shipping discounts are applied for all additional items ordered from each independent seller. Please note that if you order a combination of books and music or movies, you will be charged the first item rate for the book, and the additional item rate for any other books, movies or music in your order. The shipping rates are lower for music and movies.

Find items from a single seller

Consolidated shipping applies to books, music, and movie selections shipping to U.S. addresses. Merely search our site for your first item. Once you've located the item you want to purchase, click the Add to Cart button. Then you need at least one more item from the same seller to qualify for consolidated shipping. So click the name of the seller to access their online seller store. Then use the search fields provided to search their inventory for other items that interest you. Once you find another item, add it to your cart, where consolidated shipping will automatically be calculated.

Non-U.S. seller eligibility

You can order items from sellers around the world through Alibris. Our consolidated shipping policy applies to items ordered from sellers anywhere in the world, as long as the items ship to addresses inside the United States.

Regular shipping rates

In an order shipping within the United States, the first item from each independent seller is charged a standard shipping and handling charge. Items purchased in addition to the first item from each seller in an order are charged a discounted shipping and handling charge. Please note that if you order a combination of books and either music or movies, you will be charged the first item rate for the book, and the additional item rate for any other books, movies or music in your order. Rush shipping rates

For packages shipping within the United States via Expedited shipping, we charge a standard shipping and handling charge for the first item ordered from each independent seller and then a discounted shipping and handling charge for each additional item from that seller within the same order. Items listed by independent sellers cannot be shipped by One Day Air or Two Day Air. Please note that if you order a combination of books and music or movies, you will be charged the first item rate for the book, and the additional item rate for any other books, movies or music in your order. Non-U.S. shipping rates

For packages shipping to Canada via Canadian shipping, we charge a standard shipping and handling charge for the first item ordered from each independent seller and then a discounted shipping and handling charge for each additional item from that seller within the same order. Because of our shipping methods, consolidated shipping discounts are not available for items shipping to addresses outside the U.S. and Canada. Read more about our shipping policy and prices .

Why not free?

Free shipping is available when you purchase at least $49 worth of books that ship from an Alibris warehouse. Super Value Shipping isn't available on items that ship from independent sellers. We offer consolidated shipping as a way to make shipping discounts available when you order from sellers, but free shipping isn't available on orders from sellers because they ship directly to you and pay their own shipping expenses. Fortunately, many sellers charge reduced rates for their merchandise, making shipping and handling charges very affordable?especially on consolidated orders.
