Gonzo journalism from the master
by bubblejesus on August 4, 2007Hunter Thompson's first book has little in common with his more well-known novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, except a break-kneck speed and biting tone, but fans of the later will be more than pleased with this read. Thompson rode with the Angels for a period of time in the late 1960's, and saw first-hand the reaction the townsfolk gave to the bikers, and how a situation could escalate in seconds. It is a thrilling and insightful account of a period of time long passed, and a must-read for fans of the author.
