This is an amazing book. Dr. Burns explains how to decrease and/or eliminate depression from your life. After the first page I felt better. He has practical suggestions and exercises. The key is to follow his suggestions and do the exercises even if you don't want to or feel like it. He explains depression in a way I've never thought of before. He makes sense. I've suffered from depression for many years, have had different therapies, and taken many different anti-depressants. This book has been the most helpful. If I had read his book years ago it would have saved me hours of grief, tons of money, and any residual damage to my organs from the medicines. I highly recommend this book if you or someone you know suffers from depression.
