by Jim80 on July 10, 2007This may be the best book master historian Joseph Ellis has written. It should appeal to the general reader as well as to the specialist. Very well written with the ability to grab and hold the reader.
Each chapter concentrates on a different person by relating a specific incident in which they were intimately involved. There is an assumption that you already have some knowledge of the Revolutionary period but even the novice will enjoy this book.
