Fun for mythology buffs
by Metta on June 16, 2007For mythology aficionados, this book is a treasure-chest of familiar and more obscure figures, and a source of a lot of enjoyable guess-who moments. If the figures of the gods struggling to hold onto their identities and powers in a world that has almost ceased honoring them don't appeal, though, little else will about this book. As colorful and rich as the gods are, the human characters are pale and sketchy.
For an audience prepared to "get" the references, a very enjoyable book; for others, more hit-and-miss.
