Ohrenberg's review of Atonement

4out of 5

by Ohrenberg on January 3, 2008

Ian McEwan shows his raw talent in this story of love, loss, and war. The narrative is beautifully weaved through multiple points of view. You are given the opportunity to experience the story from a 13 year old females point of view as well as the main characters robbie and cee. When a crime is commited during a summer dinner party a young girls misunderstanding of previous events drives her to ruin a blossoming love affair and the lives of the two involved. When WW2 breaks out it is uncertain if out two lovers will ever see each other again.
