An Eye Opener
by becomingfoolishtobewise on December 22, 2007I have heard a lot about Schaeffer but never really checked out his material. I must admit now though that Schaeffer hits the proverbial nail on the head! After reading "He Is There and He Is Not Silent" I was hooked. My eyes were definately opened after reading "How Should We Then Live?". It is a great book looking over history at the rise of Western thought and culture and it's eventual decay and destruction. Schaeffer can be wordy, but he is by far the easiest to read of the philosophers that I have read. He explains his terms clearly and writes with the common man in mind. If anyone wants to study on why we are where we are today as a society this is a great book to start with!
