Great nostalgia trip!

Back in the early 1970s I received the "Stick It" album (vinyl LP) as a bonus for renewing my subscription to Down Beat magazine. Loved it then and have been delighted to relive the memories and hear the wonderful solo work of Pat LaBarbera on soprano & tenor sax. John LaBarbera's great arrangements; as well as Greg Hopkins' wonderful setting of Paul McCartney's "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" are appreciated so much more after all these years. Such fine musicians! Lin Biviano is a wonderful player but at times, his lead trumpet work is too much over the top. He was better on Count Basie's "Live at Montreux" album. But the band here is in great form. The late, great Joe Romano's lead alto is wonderful, too!
