Cold look at pre-Indusrial Revolution England
by pica on January 12, 2012The author is a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and writes on political and social history. This book is full of facts about pre-Industrial Revolution England. Some assumptions I made from other readings were debunked. Other facts --age at which people married, for example--were of no interest. The book's main virtue is that the author grinds no political axes! Neither "verdant hills"
nor "satanic mills" no "class warfare", etc. Just facts, thank goodness!
