by kcvlo on April 21, 2011The well documented and historical facts surrounding the abdication of Edward VIII and his subsequent marriage to Wallis Simpson provide ample drama requiring no further enhancement in the form of gossip, innuendo and surmise that Charles Higham sees fit to include in this flimsy and meant-to-be-tittilating biography. This book was clearly intended to appeal to the soap opera crowd. Readers interested in a factual and serious account of Mrs. Simpson's life and times would do well to avoid it.
