Good Food Beyond Vegan
by LEWB on April 21, 2011This cardiologist has developed a diet which goes beyond vegan, in that no oils are permitted. That's NO oils. So, no nuts of any kind, and no tahini in your hummus. The diet is designed to reverse and prevent heart disease. I have heard him speak, and he shows dramatic photos of cardiac vasculature in heart patients who adopted this diet. Even for those not in danger, the 150 recipes are truly excellent. They require only a few readily-available ingredients, are easy to make, and very tasty. I have tried several of them. Vegans and vegetarians would like the book just for the sake of the recipes. The writing is very down-to-earth, with practical tip on how to adopt this diet for eating out and in social situations.
