Powerful & gripping; survival against the odds
by urchin on February 26, 2009This is one of the most amazing true stories ever told, and rates highly within the group of books written about the Endurance expedition. Worsley's style differs from Shakleton's, and this book focuses more on the environment and physical journey and less on the individual characters involved.
That men could survive such an ordeal is mind blowing to us pampered, coddled people of today who find it hard to deal with minor setbacks in life. The story is inspiring and I can't recommend it highly enough.
