A startling look at redemption![]() by Elisabeth on October 12, 2007 This is the initial book stating Capon's beliefs about grace, redemption, heaven, hell, faith and death. He convincingly supports his ideas with scripture. However, he does not frequently explain away scripture which seems to say the opposite of his belief. He writes in his typical erudite, complex style, but the reading is well rewarded. I found his ideas compelling and provocative. They led to me take a fresh look at many more "conventional" interpretations. Anyone seriously interested in these issues of the Christian life and faith would, I think, find this book of great value. All of Capon's books since this one seem to be enlargements on the thoughts he first presents here.
