An Unbelievably Fantastic Read!!! Feb 12, 2011
Suzanne Collin?s The Hunger Games trilogy is a prime example of the reason I fell in love with reading. So much fun, excitement, danger, anxiety, and love are packed into these remarkable fast-paced books. Each one truly delivers.
In Mockingjay we get to experience life in the previously believed myth of District 13. District 13 isn?t the only secrets kept from the population. As Katniss is pushed and encouraged to take the role of the Mockingjay in the rebellion against the Capitol and President Snow, she continues to be torn between her best friend Gale and her fellow tribute Peeta. This is further complicated with Peeta?s push to lay down arms, because if the fighting continues there will not be enough people left to ensure the continuation of the human race. Katniss also has loyalty and friendship to Gale, who is taking an active role in the rebellion fires catching throughout the districts. The stakes and risks are high as Katniss participates in the battles and doing propos for freedom. She most likely will die from this than any of the dangers in the games arenas.
Not only is the journey awesome, (the reading of The Hunger Games books), but so is the unexpected and highly emotional conclusion. I?ve not enjoyed a series of books so immensely in a while, and I highly recommend the extraordinary trilogy to every reader!
