When an author makes such errors as "spinal chord" and (Dang where is it? Now that I need it I can't find it - the index leaves a lot to be desired) something like "the shoulders have born" (vs. "borne") weight or strain or whatever, I have to wonder about the validity of the rest of the material. Plus I'm embarrassed to recommend a book with such errors to my literate friends. Come to think of it, I wouldn't want the folks who aren't avid readers to learn the wrong words! Additionally, Ms Bond plays fast and loose with physiology (I checked this with a biology teacher and a nurse - and I'm as much a fan of alternative medicine as the next Californian.) But (here comes the love part) Mary Bond does teach, or re-teach, us how to use our bodies in conscious and comfortable ways. Bit by bit, we are taken from breathing, through the heart, to movement. In such things as beginning to experience the feel of the floor with every toe, and what we touch with every finger, she excels in returning us to an easy, sensual relationship with the world around us. The author has detailed and specific explanations for awareness, stretching, and placement exercises, including their mental and emotional components. Best of all, she restores us to the sheer joy of being incarnate on this earth. I haven't found another book that does that. Okay, Mary. Love wins.
