An interesting book, this gives a background to the new generation of SPARTAN, which is necessary for all fans of the other books. Unfortunately, though it is a good book, with a great writing style and interesting, albeit off the main story arc, plot, throughout it did seem to drag a little, as there were very few key points related to the game series; Jhon-117 is barely mentioned. Also, the ending was rather poor and slightly anticlimactic. Other than those few gripes of a huge Halo fan, i would urge you to go give this book a read (but only if you've read the 3 books before; Fall of Reach, The Flood and First Strike)
