Incredible journey, puzzling mystery

by ChristieGail on Jul 22, 2010

I was drawn into the book immediately and was reluctant to put it down at the end of my day. Totally believable characters portrayed in a completely hostile environment most of us can not begin to imagine. Compelling story line with a satisfying conclusion. This book is a treat for the senses.

Unexpected story

by Beatrice on Oct 20, 2007

The story takes place in the frozen Canadian frontier in the 1800's where the only employment seems to be fur trapping. A trapper is found murdered and neighboring families and Indians are involved. Riveting story, unusual setting, wonderfully researched, masterfully told. This book was well received in England and I have no idea why it is not known in the US.
