Cover has mild shelfwear, slight cracking near spine edge, two small gouges on back. Previous owner's name and markings on endpapers and before title-page. Otherwise pages are clean, bright, and unmarked. Frontispiece tissue is intact. Page-marking ribbon is present, but detached. Binding is tight. Hinges are perfect. Absolutely beautiful condition.
Later printing. Decorative maroon cloth stamped in gilt attributed to Adolphe E. Borie. Illustrated. Slightly bowed with rubbing and abrasions on the front pastedown from sticker removal else very good.

Previous owner's signature on front free endpage. Back board at gutter cracked and starting.
