When Ron Williamson signed with the Oakland A's in 1971, he said goodbye to his hometown of Ada and left to pursue his dreams of big-league glory. Six years later he was back, his dreams broken by a bad arm and bad habits. He moved in with his mother and slept twenty hours a day on her sofa. In 1982, a twenty-one-year-old cocktail waitress in Ada named Debra Sue Carter was raped and murdered, and for reasons that were never clear, they suspected Ron Williamson and his friend Dennis Fritz. The two were arrested and charged ... Show more

Not a Who Done it

by RM33 on Apr 16, 2009

Who done it in this true story is almost beside the point. The mystery is how could the small town cops and district attorney be so dense as to not understand that they're sending an innocent man to prison. But this is mystery enough to make the story well worth reading.

ONE TO THINK ABOUT

by RITZ4284 on Aug 27, 2008

NO MATTER YOUR OPINION ON THE FAIRNESS OF THE JUDICAL SYSTEM, THIS BOOK TELLS A GRIPPING TALE. IT'S ABOUT GUILT OR INNOCENCE, RIGHT OR WRONG. AMAZING, AND TRUE.

by EllenS on May 21, 2008

It makes a good argument against the death penalty and the sad state of justice in the world. For anyone who supports the death penalty it's a must read.
