A Bit Slow to Start

I am still enjoying the book. Crystal offers interesting insights into the way language develops and he certainly knows his stuff. I would have liked to have seen more by way of specifics, perhaps some interesting etymologies and changes of usage or even pronunciation. I don't think this is a book for people who are just coming to the study of language, but if you have read other things, it is a worthwhile read.
