Big Coal will not like his book but everyone who
uses electicity should read it. The author explains how he feels we have painted ourselves into a
corner with the use of coal to the pont that we cannot exist as a
modern society without burning it. Over 50% of all electricity is
produced by buring coal. Mr. Goodell explains how coal is bought, dug, transported,
sold and burned and who the players are who have gained the most. He
also explains the downside of its use by pollution of the air, water
and the sad social impact to those in coal bearing regions.
