So says Wes Holloway, a once-cocky and ambitious presidential aide, about the day that changed his life forever. On that Fourth of July, Wes put Ron Boyle, the chief executive's oldest friend, into the presidential limousine. By the time the trip came to an end, Wes was permanently disfigured, and Boyle was dead, the victim of a crazed assassin. Eight years later, Boyle is spotted, alive and well, in Malaysia. In that moment, Wes has the chance to undo the worst day of his life. Trying to figure out what really happened takes Wes back to a decade-old presidential crossword puzzle, mysterious facts buried in Masonic history, and a two-hundred-year-old code invented by Thomas Jefferson. But what Wes doesn't realize is that The Book of Fate holds everyone's secrets. Especially the ones worth dying for.Hide synopsis

Once I started this one, I couldn't put it down! Fast-paced, lots of suspense, thrilling!! I had read Meltzer"s Millionaires and The Zero Game and didn't enjoy them as much as this one. The story was great with twists and turns all over the place! Great read!
After reading Meltzer?s Millionaires I was a little disappointed in this story. But, I have come to respect his work. As a whole Meltzer?s average story beats other authors good stories hands down. This story has a lot of good content as well as a nice development of the motivations and actions of Wes ...
I picked this book up at the airport and then even when the flight was over counldn't put it down. Short chapters that bounce from character to character. Easy to keep track of the characters.
For the story, a good insight to the life of a president and the private life they live. A good suprise ending ...
