This book is part of a series that has a lot of interesting people. It is a true to life story of the twists and turns that ones life can have and how others deal with those issues. Susan writes stories that capture your interest and helps you view situations a little different than you have in the past. Her characters become people and you become part of their lives.
After reading this book, I bought the other four novels of Ms Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicals. The plot is much more complicated than just a romantic lost and found, all is well in the end situation.
The main characters are not only the two star crossed lovers but a rather large extended family and their histories of connections to the lives of two people who love each other deeply but through circumstances, have remained apart from teen years until a very well written meeting later in life.
There are poignant moments which will exasperate the reader but at the same time, one can relate to the circumstances causing the misunderstandings.
Very readable and hard to put down. I hope the rest of the series is as emotionally riveting as this one.
