A good source.

The supplement to Ethnohistory volume of the Handbook of Middle American Indians is a good supplement. It contains 7 well writte articles dealing each with a particular topic in Mesoamerican Ethnohistory and presenting the sources that exist to the study of that topic. Particularly useful I found Carmacks article about the ethnohistory of colonial guatemala. And Susan Kelloggs article about kinship and social organization in early colonial Tenochtitlan. Being a supplement it is rather fragmentary f nature and does not try to achieve any kind of comprehensiveness in its scope. But as a collection of individual articles about mesoamerican ethnohistory it is quite good.
