Wonderful!!!

by idontwanttogrowup on Jun 9, 2007

Generation Me explores the generational characteristics that have emmerged as the children of the late 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s have grown into school-aged, college-aged, and business-aged members of society. The book gives several examples of differences between Baby Boomers and GenMe'ers (members of Generation Me), such as appearance, modesty of self and language, vocabulary/jargon used in public and private arenas, interests, sexual behavior, mental states such as depression and anxiety, social tolerance, work ethic, and education. The final chapter, "Applying Our Knowledge: The Future of Business and the Future of the Young," gives insite to employers, advertisers, parents, educators, and the young themselves as to how the GenMe'ers are best worked with and what actions will get the best results. This book is absolutely wonderful! I read the whole thing in a weekend because I just could not put it down! As a middle school teacher and a member of GenMe, I found this book incredibly accurate in its depiction of adolescents today as well as its depiction of the characteristic childhood experienced by those born in the early 80s (the time at which my friends and I were all born). Great book! I highly recommend it!
