I really enjoyed this one. Kimmel does an excellent job of capturing the voice of a 13 year old. I find it very irritating to read an author's voice of a child coming out like an adult's. One of my favorite quotes from the book, (in referring to being a bridesmaid) "I didn't want to be a maidenhead." Just an example of some of the treats you will find in this book. Kimmel also includes photographs of some of the people in her life--very nice touch!
If you are in your 40s or 50s this book will make you very nostalgic. It mentions many things that you may have forgotten: the tiny little lipstick samples from Avon, the big Barbie head you could put makeup on and do her hair on, etc.
