The title isn't lying
This book was a wedding gift, and I'm so glad to have received it, for I probably would never have purchased it myself. Being a vegetarian, there are many recipes here that I will probably never tackle. However, there are plenty of recipes that I have been able to use, and they have all turned out spectacularly. I particularly like the section on obscure spices. One of my other cookbooks kept calling for a mix of spices called "garam masala," and having no idea what it was or where to find it, I didn't touch those recipes. Then I found the instructions in "Best Recipes in the World" on how to make it at home with a coffee grinder!
I haven't even cracked open the section on breads and desserts, but if they are as reliably good as the vegetable dishes and the condiments/sauces that I've made, we're definitely in business. I highly recommend this book, especially to omnivores.
