Show synopsis Author, Victor Ho, cannot reveal his real name because in the People's Republic of China it is dangerous to speak out on subjects the government disapproves of. The author explains it further, "If one speaks the wrong thing he may land himself in a re-education camp or detention centre. His parents and his children may be also affected. More than 100 intellectuals and writers had been retained without trial recently." Victor Ho has seen a lot since his birth in 1935. However, the change he would like to see most is democratization in the middle east. Thus inspired his books, Democratization In The Middle East, Political Reforms and Corruption in Hong Kong, and his latest book, Emerging China and its neighbors, which concerns political, economic reforms and culture of China and its neighbors.
