Professor Amar does this country yeoman service by portraying the cornerstone of our legal and political foundation as a blueprint for a national government.
We are often distracted from our country's mission by people and corporations that spend large amounts of money and time to prevent us from acheiving national success. It is refreshing to find a constituional expert who tries to make us understand that this unique document is not meant to be picked apart to suit individual interests.
No one amendment takes precedence over the others, and the Bill of Rights is, by itself, not the US Constitution. By understanding the document in the context of "biography," we are reminded that the whole document is a living entity.
The Framers intended the US Constitution to create a platform for national dialogue among the disparate parties in a dynamic nation with dreams of manifest destiny.
Thank, Professor Amar for giving us a better understanding of our political heritage.
