Very Good. 8 " Signed by Author 352 pages. Signed by Stephen Walker on the title page. "Author Stephen Walker brilliantly recreates the three terrible weeks leading up to the wartime detonation of the atomic bomb-from the first successful test in the New Mexico desert to the cataclysm and its aftermath-presenting the story through the eyes of pilots, scientists, civilian victims, and the world leaders who stood at the center of the earth-shattering drama." The text is clean and tight. Cover is virtually free of creases. Book appears unread.
The writing in this book is incredible! Amazing amount of detail given to each of the characters, settings and events. It couldn't be better written than if the author was actually present himself to witness the events. The story is captivating--even for someone such as I that is not generally drawn to this type of book. My husband is reading it aloud to us, so we are sharing it together. A "must read" for anyone interested in reading about World War II.
