I took several days to think about what I was going to write in this review. I finished the book over a week ago so the story is still fresh but I've hopefully left some feelings behind.
To sum up I didn't like this book. I know it's a debut novel and Orson Scott Card gave it a glowing preview review ...

Sanderson's excellent debut novel demonstrates his flair for exciting and innovative magic systems, as well as political intrigue. I enjoy the characters, but some may find them a little over done and exaggerated.
