A Good Yarn

by Dreamweaver on Mar 25, 2010

A great "hunt and peck" book. Open it at any page and lift your spirits with a laugh or two. A quirky, endearing sense of humor for a view of the little absurdities which make us take ourselves too seriously. Much cheaper than psycho-therapy. Put it on your book shelf for an any-time antidote to the smaller frustrations of life.

Knitting & Meditation

by MariannR on May 31, 2007

I find this is a great lighthearted book. I've laughed out loud reading it. McPhee is the Erma Bombeck of the knitting world. I truly love it !!! Her thoughts and reasoning in the knitting world make sense. You can never to much yarn or too many projects going at the same time. I recommend this lighthearted book to all the knitters out there, beginners and accomplished knitters alike. If you're stuck on a pattern and need to de-stress... hey, grab this book, it's good medicine for the soul!

Very enjoyable book

by se1959 on Apr 20, 2007

This book was the much anticipated first published writings of a well known Canadian blogger. Written in a format to resemble other similar types of meditations books that date back to the early 1990s, it will appeal to knitters and non knitters alike. The writing style is chatty but conveys the author's love of knitting and all things related. The quotes that are featured on each page are well chosen. Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, known more widely as the Yarn Harlot, has written several more books but this one was a true pleasure to read and remains my favorite.
