Moving, and thought-provoking

This is the second Wangerin book that I have read and studied. I say studied because it is in a form that one can use throughout the 40 days of Lent to focus on the passion of Jesus. Some of this author's books, although also contemplative, are in story form. This volume is a collection of scripture-based vignettes, prayerfully written and powerful in their impact. Wangerin's great faith and spiritual insight are evident in all his writings, but this one is my favorite. Through several years' study it has never grown stale, much like its story and main character.
