Simply, Sean Hannity is a complete and total hypocrite. The most frustrating thing about him being a hypocrite is that he doesn't know he is a hypocrite! None of his followers know or believe he is a hypocrite! If you are reading this review of mine and you are a follower of his, I bet you will state, "no he isn't a hypocrite, you commie, lefty traitor." In this book Hannity argues against criticism of the Iraq/Afghanistan wars when George Bush was president. He devotes a chapter to the idea that politics ends at the water edge, or in other words we don't utilize our freedom speech so those outside of the U.S. do not know that there are people who know say the emperior has no clothes. Frankly, I find this very idea BS and goes against the very idea of liberty. If the president is wrong or the government is wrong and you believe the policy is bad for America and should be changed, then change it! Don't mute yourself over concerns that the Irish or Germans or Canadians (or whoever) might find out that the president isn't beloved by every single American. I was not hired to be any president's cheerleader. But, the thing is with Hannity and the right in general is that when the president is a democrat, then "politics ends at the water edge" no longer applies. Nope, not at all, indeed it is forgotten. If you point out this hypocrisy to Hannity or any rightwinger, they get mad. Angry in fact because you are calling them (which they are in this case) a hypocrite. Don't believe me about Hannity? Here are some quotes by him when there was a dem in the Overal Office.
Sean Hannity in 1999 talking about military action in Kosovo when Clinton was president: "It seems that we're talking about a very ill-conceived military action here. And now the question is, do you go in further and deeper, or do you pull back and rethink what the strategy's going to be here, because there has really been no stated goal, mission, or objective." Hannity went on:
"There's no stated goal. There's no definition of success. All these important things. There's no exit strategy. One mistake after another. Why would you go in deeper when we have not been successful up to this point? That seems to me to be folly."
Hannity further explained his position: "I say, back out of it, because innocent people are going to die for nothing. That's why I'm against it."
Publishers Weekly, 2004-02-16 Conservative Fox Television news host and bestselling author Hannity sees behind the ills of the world one cause: evil. And so Hannity joins the "neocon" chorus, positing that totalitarian regimes, such as Hussein's in Iraq, Hitler's Germany and the former Soviet Union, serve as breeding grounds for evil, thus justifying President Bush's policy of pre-emptive action against countries that could threaten American interests. Despite "irrefutable evidence," Hannity writes, today's liberals inexplicably doubt that "absolute evil truly exists," and instead foolishly cling to the idea that the world's problems might arise from social, psychological and cultural differences or from economic inequality. Fans of Hannity-Christian conservatives in particular-will no doubt embrace this straightforward call to arms. Many readers, however, will find Hannity's "irrefutable" evidence to be anything but, and his selective use of history and circular logic raise far more questions than it settles. Two final chapters examine what Hannity considers to be the dangerous, partisan policies espoused by the current slate of Democratic presidential candidates. For our democracy to survive, Hannity argues, we must root out terrorists and defeat evil totalitarian regimes before they can harm us-a theme that will no doubt play loudly this election season.
