New take on an old problem
Insulin resistance causes weight gain, food binging, hunger and lots of other health problems. Many diets out there require such a severe cutback on carbs that it is hard to maintain the diet. This book says if you link and balance your proteins and carbs and you can eat almost anything. There are very helpful restaurant eating guides so you know what to order when you go out. A great mix and match chart helps you have a great breakfast. I am eating more now and am never hungry, but have lost 7 pounds so far. Recommended it to my daughter and she has lost 10. Give it a look!

This book put information into my hands about my condition that I didn't receive from my physician. I would recommend this book to anyone with insulin resistance. It took years to get a diagnois of all my symptoms yet only an easy read to find an answer to reverse it.
Publishers Weekly, 2001-02-12 The Insulin-Resistance Diet: How to Turn Off Your Body's Fat-Making Machine recommends a well-researched health program based on the relationship between insulin and fat. While low-fat foods are a part of the plan, Cheryle R. Hart and Mary Kay Grossman (doctors at the Women's Workshop, a medical weight clinic) arm readers with comprehensible information about smart combinations of foods that allow for genuinely tasty treats. The book will be helpful for people who want a regimen as well as for those who just want to make informed eating choices. ( Mar.) Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
