Bill Bryson gives a lot of useful travel information in a very humorous way. He does not downgrade or make fun of areas, but sees the joy in finding new spots to explore.

Worth the Time!

Bryson is a witty, likeable guy that gives you a personal tour through small town America. As the reader rides along, he/she is reminded what really makes one place special. Life and homes are what you make of them and Bryson's experience is a wonderful reminder of that. There are parts that will make you laugh and others that sort of depress you in an existential way. The whole book is an excellent read and highly recommended.
