emma's gift

This book was inspirational, exciting and suspenseful. The surprise accident when Sam slipped in the lake and hit his head had me in absolute shock. I was reading along, kind of suspecting the story line to be calm and then the "cliff hanger" - sam fell in to the lake and hit his head. I gasped and said out loud "Oh - no". My husband looked at me. I had totally forgotten how in to the story I was. I put the book down long enough to regroup. I, so, wanted Emma to have left money and material items for the big family. I was so taken when Emma's brother showed up. According to the story line, he was not a familiar visitor so I figured he would send a Western Union stating that he no longer wanted anything to do with either property. Again, this was probably the best book I have read in the series. I liked Rorey's surprise but it was not as suspenseful as Emma's Gift. Keep writing leisha.
