It was pretty hard to put this book down. It covered the war in great detail and was based on interviews of both Arab and Israeli participants. Oren has done a wonderful job at presenting the war in a fair, even-handed manner. Highly recommended.

Michael Oren, today, is Israel's ambassador to the U.S. You can see why when you read this book. A little dry starting out but starts rolling quick enough. Gives you the background and then gets into the nitty gritty. Found it to be neither bias towards either side, though I always route for the underdog, provided he is a good guy.
